Inti Amanta Lodge

We used this place as a rest stop between hiking Cotopaxi and kicking off the Quilotoa trek, and it turned out to be the perfect pick. The lodge sits 10 minutes up the hill from Sigchos, and they’ll shuttle you to town and back for free. The views are absolutely breathtaking. The family running the place is incredibly welcoming, and the rooms are spacious, spotless, with great showers and Wi‑Fi. The food and drinks are tasty, and the hosts even slipped in a few small gifts—truly going above and beyond.

“Special Experience”

This was one of the most memorable trips I’ve ever taken. The spot—about 20 minutes up mountain roads from Sigchos and roughly an hour from Quilotoa—is stunning, perched above the clouds so the night sky is spectacular. The hosts made me feel like family, offering thoughtful touches like Canelazo, a knitted scarf, flowers, a bonfire, and special tea for my sore throat, while sharing their culture with me. The meals were delicious, generous, and let me sample many Ecuadorian specialties. I wish every hotel were like this, especially as a solo female traveler. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

“Perfection in the middle of the Andes mountain range”

The rooms feature excellent beds, the shower is hot, and coffee and tea are available all day in the lounge. Dinner and breakfast were both great with plenty of options. But the unbeatable view and the family’s incredible hospitality—truly the best—made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. They speak Spanish, we speak English, but communication was never an issue. If you want a peaceful stay, Inti Amanti (sun spirit) is the place to be. The only downside was that we only stayed for one night.

We travel a lot and this place is unique in beauty and hospitality. Unbelievable views, beautiful spacious clean rooms and bathrooms, nicer than the photos on Booking. We stayed another night because we couldn’t leave. Excellent meals are included in the price, a fire lit at night and a telescope to see the clear skies. The owner picked us up from Sigchos – 11 min drive, since Google Maps does not show the new tarres asphalt road. I can’t praise it enough. Also, if you have a car (certainly if not – he will take you from Sigchos and return), the owner met us in Sigchos to show us the way. We couldn’t stay longer.
