Self‑check‑in worked smoothly.

The bed was very comfortable, the TV was large, the room was a decent size, the shower was lovely, and the tea and coffee facilities were great; the staff were pleasant on the phone. However, the property was unmanned, neighbors in other rooms were noisy, with loud music, loud voices, and doors slamming. The deposit felt off‑putting, and if I had known before booking I probably wouldn’t have. I don’t think it’s necessary; no other hotel does this. A disclaimer on the website and a list of what the deposit covers would have been clearer.

The breakfast set‑up is brilliant, and the fridge/freezer space is a huge bonus for guests. I liked the code‑based check‑in instead of meeting people. It met every need we had, is very close to the centre and the park directly opposite the son’s room. Parking is accessible too. The only issue was the bathroom switch being 5 ft up from the floor, which we couldn’t reach easily because we’re short, and there were some loud noises from other guests, but that can’t be helped.

The location was convenient for easy access to Gloucester Quays and all its facilities. The room was very small, which was actually ideal for a single traveller staying two nights. The room and shower were very clean, and the dining area/kitchen was spotless and modern. Parking was problematic on my first night, but kind neighbours at No 76 let me use one of their spaces. On my second night I was lucky enough to park right outside the property. The only slight problem was the parking on the first night, and the fire alarm went off early one morning, which, according to another occupant, was the third time that week. That was resolved quickly, so it wasn’t a major issue.
