Clean, quiet, and very welcoming, but the mattress should be replaced and breakfast could improve.

The owners were fantastic; we dined and had breakfast with them, and Wanda cooked wonderfully. They entertained us with great conversation and we’d definitely return. The beds were a bit too firm for our taste, making them hard to find comfortable.

There’s a nice deck for outdoor time and good Wi‑Fi, which mattered since there was no cell service from AT&T or Verizon. However, the site and confirmation never mentioned a payment method, so we assumed a credit card like at other Newfoundland spots. When we tried to pay, the owners said they only accept cash, forcing us to find an ATM in a remote area—a tough task. When we returned with cash, the owner told us the listed price was not the total; there was an extra city tax (city unknown). We managed to get more cash and paid the extra amount. The apartment is spacious but the furniture is old and uncomfortable, especially the bed, which is the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept on. The place sits at the end of a long, poorly maintained road with almost nothing nearby. There’s no cooking facilities except a small microwave, and the only nearby restaurant is good but small; otherwise, the next restaurant or grocery store is over 30 km away, so come prepared.

The breakfast was excellent, and the hosts were friendly and offered a variety of meal options, which is a relief in an area with few restaurant choices. However, the property was advertised as being in Burlington, when it actually sits in Smith's Harbour, and the directions to get there were not clear.
