The owner is a friendly guy. I’m adaptable, but honestly I don’t understand how this place can get such high ratings. Aside from the fact that the services are really basic, it’s not normal to find sheets with stains, ants, cockroaches, and geckos in the room. I had booked a lake‑view room, but I was given a mountain view instead. I’m sorry to leave a negative review.

The value was good, the place was comfortable and clean, and the host was very helpful. The bed was comfy, the shower had hot water and good pressure. The entrance area and the room offered beautiful views over Kandy. A friendly dog named Flix loved the attention—dogs are always a bonus for us! Wi‑Fi was reasonable and the TV had a decent selection of American channels, which was actually nice. The only downside was the location, but we knew about it when we booked, so it wasn’t a surprise. It sits on a gradual hill and sometimes tuktuks had to be guided. If you don’t mind walking a bit, there are local shops, bakeries and restaurants less than 10 minutes away, the lake around 10‑15 minutes, and the town about 25‑30 minutes away.
