“It was very disappointing. Not receiving the room requested. Upcharged $940.20 for each room.”
We checked in and the hotel told us that only one person would be in each room, yet we were charged an extra $940.20 for a second person per room even though the reservation said it was for four people. Athena Jimenez, the agent, was rude. We had booked one‑bedroom suites, but those were gone—either the building was sold or the suites were reconfigured. On day three they tried to “upgrade” us to a room the same size with a walk‑out water feature and a minor food upgrade, but we were already all‑inclusive. The property was poorly maintained and the staff didn’t run operations professionally. If we had informed the hotel that four people were supposed to stay, they would have ripped us off; if they didn’t know, that’s negligence. Most staff were friendly and did their best, but the buffet food was unappealing. In the separate restaurants we found acceptable options. Because there were four of us, each of us tried different menu items to find what we liked, so someone might not get a decent dish. Since it was all‑inclusive, we could reorder based on what others received. The property still needed maintenance: walls needed painting, railings and locks were rusty. Each room had only one regular and one decaf coffee pod, no washcloth unless requested. The bath gel, hand soap, and skin lotion were in pump bottles that were not properly filled. Shampoo and conditioner were in the same bottle, which seemed ridiculous. The wooden pool chairs all needed replacement or refinishing. I have many photos to back up my claims.
