“Overall nice hotel just needed a couple of tweaks”

The location is great, close to Zócalo and museums. The décor is nice and the rooms are comfortable. The bathroom products are lovely. The restaurant is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. The only issue was that there were no towel racks in the bathroom, just one hook, so there was nowhere to hang used towels or robes, which made it hard to be eco‑friendly. There were only two small water bottles for two people; a water fountain to refill would have been nice.

“Zentrale Lage, schönes Gebäude - aber keine 5 Sterne”

Sehr stilvolles Hotel in einem historischen Gebäude, mitten im Zentrum von Mexiko-Stadt – nur einen Block vom Zócalo entfernt. Moderne, saubere Zimmer, schöne Badezimmer, bequeme Betten. Gutes mexikanisches Frühstück. Hervorragendes Restaurant auf der Dachterrasse. Nettes und freundliches Personal. Was fehlt? (1) Unsere Zimmer hatten keine Fenster und öffnen sich nur zu einem (überdachten) Innenhof, wo die Luft oft ziemlich nach Küche roch. Es gibt nur eine einfache Tür - mit schwachem Buntbart-Schloss! - zum Innenhof, die man bei Nacht auch nicht sicher geöffnet arretieren kann. Sprich: mit Klimaanlage, aber in stickiger Luft mässig geschlafen. (2) Das Parken des Autos ist schwierig und ziemlich teuer; vom Hotel bekommt man dabei keine Hilfe, selbst vorab gestellte Fragen dazu wurden nicht beantwortet – es wurde keine Empfehlung für einen (kostenpflichtigen) zuverlässigen „estacionamiento“ gegeben

“Nice place, very central to the old city but too loud to be well rested unfortunately.”

The hotel looks amazing. The noise was loud, with a staff doorbell ringing from about 6:15 am and then every 15 minutes or so. Because the building is open, it woke us up easily.

“Mi gran cumpleaños en Casa de la Luz”

Casa de la Luz is a beautiful 16th‑century building with top‑class facilities. The staff are very kind and always ready to help. The restaurant is gorgeous and the food is excellent; its specialty is Oaxacan cuisine, and you’re greeted with a welcome cocktail of hibiscus and mezcal, which is the most delicious thing! They prepare a sauce at your table to your liking and a lady makes handmade tortillas on a clay griddle that melt in your mouth, taking us back to childhood when we could actually eat real tortillas! The rooms are gorgeous with high‑quality linens and a very comfortable bed, so we slept like at home. It’s three blocks from the Zócalo and therefore close to the most important historic buildings and museums in our beautiful CDMX. I highly recommend staying here; we celebrated my birthday there, walked to ZincoJazz, and visited museums. Everything was perfect.

The hotel is very pretty and has a perfect location for visiting the historic center. The room had no window because of the building’s architecture, making it a bit claustrophobic. Breakfast was fine, but not luxurious.
