“Too expensive for what it is”
The property really emphasises the Harry Potter theme, which is nice if you’re a fan. There is tea available downstairs. The bed was comfortable. We had the family room with one double bed and one single bed. It’s located in a quiet street, close to the train station and the Minster + walls. I’d like to bring up 3 things: - for this price, I was expecting a decent breakfast. We only got a little basket with barely anything. And there’s no service. We had ordered a sandwich and pastries. The pastries were uncooked… so we couldn’t eat them. And we thought there would at least be an egg or something in the sandwich because we had to choose bacon or sausage but it was literally just bacon and sausage in a sandwich. There’s no coffee machine either. - it’s kind of an old house so be ready to hear floorboards. I also don’t really trust carpets when I comes to hygiene but that’s a personal preference. - no curtains. We were in the roof and the blinds are see through. If you wake up very early, then it shouldn’t bother you. Otherwise, it will
“Great location , comfy room and friendly staff”
The location is superb, just a three‑minute walk from the City Walls and the Minster, the bedroom is comfy with a new, modern en suite, and breakfast was great.
“Lovely accommodation, quirky, convenient and good value .”
Great location. Easy walk to city centre. Quirky decor. Nice breakfast in a basket. Nice touches including pot of sweets in room and tea, coffee, biscuits etc. Room was bit hot but there was a fan
The staff were extremely attentive and lovely, the room was beautiful with a great bed and bathroom, the common areas were well decorated, breakfast was excellent, and we received great tips for exploring York, making Minster Walk Guesthouse a perfect little getaway.
“Charming independent inn that is in a great location to explore York.”
Everyone was so lovely and accommodating, and the property feels unique and charming. The only downside was a bit of stuffiness in room 8 3/4, and it could use better window ventilation.
