I really liked the open atmosphere and the great location. The room was a bit too small.

Close to the subway station, just a five‑minute walk. The staff were enthusiastic and friendly, the front desk receptionist Isabella patiently explained things and helped with luggage. The kitchen facilities were complete, and it was quiet at night. Originally I booked a triple room, but the window wouldn’t open, so there was no fresh air; using the window air‑conditioner caused a lot of noise that disturbed sleep. I wanted to change to a double room, but I wasn’t refunded the price difference.

The best thing is the location, near the subway to Boston, super convenient. We felt safe in the neighborhood. If you plan to be out and just go back to sleep, and you travel with a backpack, it’s a good place. This is like a shared house, not a hotel. I found it super expensive for what it is. Super small room, shared bathroom, shared house.

The spot’s right next to the airport and you can hop on public transport or just walk to nearby restaurants and convenience shops, and the red line subway station JFK/UMass is practically a stone’s throw away. The bathrooms were spotless and never ran out of supplies. Everyone on the staff was super friendly. We booked the caravan “A‑liner”; the bed felt a bit smaller than we’d imagined, but it was still cozy enough to have our own space even though it’s a hostel. Checking in and out was a breeze. The downside is that the A‑liner feels a bit old and could collapse, especially with the strong winds we had that night. I’d suggest staying in the main building instead of the caravan, and I still think the Boston homestel is a solid choice for everything else—it was worth it and a nice stay.
