Located in Kranj's historic centre, the 4-star Hotel Actum is a boutique hotel with a romantic neo-Baroque style, featuring rooms inspired by famous actors and decorated with Rolls-Royce elements. The hotel’s central location in town is a plus, and free parking is available if you request it before you arrive. The room was on the small side but still comfortable. The only downside is that the hotel has no elevator because it’s a historic building that can’t be altered by city ordinance; with four floors, including the ground floor, this can be very difficult. The staff were quick to bring the luggage up, which is a relief.

The breakfast was relatively simple. The window above the bed could only be reached from the bed itself.

We went to a supposedly mid‑range hotel for a treat on our trip, but it turned out to be a disappointment. The entrance is a hallway with a barbershop and a couple of shops, and there’s no elevator—four floors that we had to climb with luggage. The motorcycle parking is outside the hotel, on the street. The fruit breakfast only had bananas, no pastries, and it was very limited. We were confused by the whole experience.

The location in Kranj is convenient. The shower drain was broken, the floors, sheets, and bathroom were dirty, and there were strong smells throughout the hotel, including the breakfast area.

This cute boutique hotel sits right in the heart of the old town. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the breakfast was excellent, and there’s a great pizza place across the street.
