“A peaceful island escape with beautiful surroundings, great food and lovely staff – simple, relaxing and far away from m”
Getting to Polaris was an adventure: from Sandingan we took a private boat the resort arranged (1,000 PHP, about 30 minutes). Because of the waves, we had to disembark roughly 500 m from the resort and haul five suitcases over sand and rocks—exhausting! 😅 But the warm welcome with cold drinks, chilled towels, and a personalized sign instantly lifted our spirits. The resort is gorgeous, serene, and intimate, featuring a lovely tropical garden, a large pool, an oceanfront bar, and an open‑air restaurant. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was excellent—generous portions at very reasonable prices. We originally booked two tree houses, but later upgraded to two pool‑side rooms, and that proved to be the right call. Four nights felt just right. We enjoyed the pool, the night sky, snorkeling with plenty of starfish, and cycling around the island. The island feels very authentic and far from mass tourism. If you want to disconnect, slow down, and soak up peace and nature, Polaris is a wonderful place. We left rested, happy, and with beautiful memories. The original tree houses were very hot and the stairs were steep, making them uncomfortable for us. The pool‑side rooms were much better, though they cost more and the air conditioning was extra. The biggest surprise came at departure: the resort arranged a car from Sandingan to Panglao for 3,500 PHP, later reduced to 3,000 PHP after we questioned the price. That still felt steep considering we had paid only 5,000 PHP for the much longer, roughly three‑hour trip from Anda to Sandingan. I’d recommend agreeing on transportation prices beforehand. Also, this island isn’t for everyone; if you’re looking for nightlife, shopping, smooth roads, or many activities, you might find it too quiet and isolated.
“Un paraíso”
I love everything. All the staff are incredible—Merlinda, Carlo, and everyone else treated us wonderfully. Everything is fantastic.
“Paradise !!!”
It was the most amazing place, felt like paradise and it was hard to leave. The place itself was mind blowing, but the staff was even more so. Everybody was extremely nice, helpful and just made my stay unforgettable. Big thanks to the divers, cleaners, managers and everybody that was around. Can‘t wait to be back :)
“Le meilleur pour un séjour de grande qualité : on se sent bien,. Accueil extrêmement professionnel !”
Everything is top‑level—location, welcome, equipment, comfort, organization, cleanliness, accommodation, food, bar, diving. The team is professional and adorable, and the five days we spent there were truly enjoyable.
“Gewoonweg HEERLIJK (”
The staff were all incredibly kind and helpful, every single one. Everything was pico bello! A top accommodation …
