The view from the top floor was wonderful and the room felt very clean. Checkout was quick, so we could leave right away. The only downside was that the convenience store was a bit far away.

The only thing that was decent was the large bathtub, but everything else felt dated – the fixtures looked old, the unit bath was the cramped, retro style you’d expect from decades ago and was inconvenient to use, and the room reeked of something like sweaty socks. On top of that, the front desk staff were unfriendly, which made the whole experience feel poorly treated.

The front desk staff were courteous and the lending station at reception was a nice touch, but at 2 am the fire alarm rang nonstop and the front desk was unreachable. A family member discovered a false alarm on the first floor, which eventually stopped, only to trigger again later. An announcement finally admitted it was a malfunction, and given last year’s sauna fatality, the situation felt very unsafe. The hotel should keep the front line staffed and ensure the public address system works; a delayed response to a fire could be disastrous. A modest refund would have been appropriate instead of just a verbal apology, especially since we paid to relax and got none of that. The shower room had a few stray hairs from the previous guest stuck to the bathtub, which was off‑putting. Overall, even with good service, the safety concerns were too serious for me to return.
