“AVOID, completely unreliable and rude”

I messaged the owner a few days before arrival to tell them our flight would land in Colombo at 9 pm, so we’d check in late, and they said it was fine until midnight. When we actually landed at 9 pm, a text popped up right before we got to the hotel saying the room wasn’t available, with no explanation. After a handful of texts and a phone call, they finally replied with a cheap excuse about damaged electrics from a storm, which felt like a cover‑up for having already sold our room to someone else at a higher price. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS HOTEL. AVOID.

I didn’t check in because, first, they told me a different price and added a charge for using the air conditioner—something I’d never seen before 🤯. Second, when I finally asked to see my room, they showed me a windowless room with stale air, which was terrible. I had to pay extra for that, so I had to call a taxi again and book another hotel. I absolutely do not recommend this place; if you’re tired after a flight, you’ll either have to accept bad conditions or spend time and money on a taxi. 🤨
