Casa Cordati is a gem - a house that is still lived in and is redolent of the artist Bruno Cordati who painted there and whose pictures are still on display in a permanent exhibition in the house. It's huge, which means that you hardly notice any other guests (apparently all four spaces were booked out when I was there but I heard nothing of the other visitors). In terms of 'facilities' - there's pretty well everything you could want, with options to pay (a tiny amount) for things like bikes and cooking facilities if you need - but my room had a fridge, great bathroom, great Wifi, comfortable bed and a football pitch of a space to move around in. The shared spaces are unbelievably beautiful and the views breathtaking - and to top it all the host, Giordano, is welcoming, helpful and kind. I love everything about this place. There's nothing I don't like. All I'd say is that if you are the kind of person who likes modern, characterless hotels then you probably won't enjoy this much. Oh, and it may be worth mentioning that if you have mobility issues then you need to ask for the apartment on the ground floor as there are large stone staircases to navigate for rooms upstairs (but then, medieval palazzi in Italy tend to have quite a lot of steps, so that shouldn't be a surprise!)

Casa is very welcoming, and Giordano clearly strives to make guests comfortable. Plenty of leisure areas, books, and chairs are freely available. The value for money is incredible. The apartment was clean, but the curtains, wardrobes, and lamps were dusty—nothing bothersome, just a few sneezes.

Casa Cordati is a historic building in a prime spot within a beautiful town. It was spacious, atmospheric, and the Bruno Cordati art exhibition was a pleasant surprise.

The location is perfect in the middle of old town Barga. Everything is walking distance, including the free parking (2min walk). Giordano is extremely friendly and ready to do anything for you. There's a little museum on the first floor, which you have free access to! All the kitchen supplies are there, salt, oil, pepper, herbs and spices! Facilities are all free to use, soaps (dishwasher, hand, but also laundry) are all included. I haven't seen that anywhere else. It could have been cleaner. The place is huge and Giordano is doing it all alone, to keep the prices down. This is the only thing I can think of, as our one year old crawled all over the place and found all the spots that weren't cleaned
