The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was tiny and couldn’t hold anything.

The spot is excellent, and the showers had plenty of hot water even though I’d read otherwise. Breakfast was abundant with many options, and the brownie sundae dessert was the best. The bar area and window view were spectacular, making it a great central spot for day trips. The older room we got was still a bit outdated; it was cozy but tiny, the bathroom needed updating, and the blow dryer didn’t work.

"A cozy hotel with a nice and helpful staff. The rooms are clean and a perfectly fine size. The breakfast is good, but the dinner could be improved—the dishes we ordered were just okay, nothing more. dinner could be improved—the dishes we ordered were just okay, nothing more

The rooftop deck is perfect for watching the aurora, and the staff would call to let you know when it appeared. They’re super friendly, and the breakfast spread in the nice dining room offers many excellent options. The location is far from light pollution, so it’s great for aurora viewing—peaceful and quiet. The photos can be misleading because they focus on newer, higher‑end rooms. The older part of the hotel, built in the 1950s, has small rooms with basic furnishings and a bathroom that only has a sink, toilet, and an older shower you have to step up into, which could be hard for people with mobility issues. Shampoo and conditioner aren’t provided—just a single soap. There is a newer wing with larger, more modern furnishings, so if you want something fancier, book those rooms instead of the older section; just be sure you know which building you’re reserving to set your expectations.
