Everything was great—our room, the wardrobe, the sunny balcony, the super cozy bed, and the breakfast that caught us off guard but was a fantastic way to start the day. A small fridge in the common lounge was handy for folks like us with perishable food, and Orion turned out to be a lovely town larger than expected, with a train to San Sebastian that’s easy to catch. All in all, we’re thrilled to have found this place.

The room and everything else were brand‑new and very tidy. The all‑you‑can‑eat breakfast had hot milk coffee in thermoses, fresh croissants, yogurts and granola, though no plain yogurts without fruit or sweetness (constructive criticism). We received a small room on the third floor without an elevator; there were larger rooms with balconies available, but they were sold out when we booked; the listing didn’t differentiate the rooms as best as I recall.

In a corporate world, the owner’s personal greetings are a charm, and the breakfast is delicious and unexpected. The room is immaculate and clean, and waking to the sound of church bells before traffic starts is a sweet experience. Having a restaurant right next to the hotel is wonderful, and Zarautz is only a 9‑minute drive through forests and vineyards. The only downside is that the hotel sits beside the road and the room faces it directly, so daytime car traffic is quite noticeable, even though it’s not a highway.

The breakfast isn’t included, but the hotel’s coziness and proximity to Zarautz are nice. A bit of annoyance came from the open window facing the nearby road.

The location is great and there’s parking, but the room is relatively small.
