The Kings Arms hotel is situated in Christchurch town centre, offering free Wi-Fi, free parking, and luxury rooms with flat-screen TVs, DVD/CD players, and iPod docks. The hotel boasts stunning views of the Victorian bowling green and castle ruins. Renovated in 2025, the Georgian building combines original character with modern luxury, featuring Hypnos mattresses, power showers, and luxury toiletries in its en suite rooms.

The location was great, the rooms lovely, the restaurant and menu choice fantastic, and the staff were fantastic. The sash windows were covered by secondary glazing panels, and the air‑con couldn’t be customised in the room.

The restaurant and bar are excellent, clean, modern, and the bar staff are knowledgeable. The room was large, comfortable, with a nice big clean bed, and breakfast was a perfect meal. The location was great, but parking is not easy, so I ended up paying for one down the road. The shower head in the bathroom was dirty. Getting breakfast was not easy: the table was dirty, we were ignored, and there was no cutlery until we asked more than once. I had to ask three times for condiments. The ladies serving were doing their best but were massively overwhelmed and understaffed.

The location, the room, and the restaurant were all good. However, although the staff were very friendly and helpful, their detailed knowledge of the menu and available facilities could have been better. Car parking was limited and not good enough.
