Beautiful place to stay, staff are amazing, guests were great. We stayed with a 1‑year‑old and he had the freedom to run wild (with assistance).

Long Bay Motor Camp sits on the water's edge, 2km from Coromandel Town, 41km from Whitianga, and 54km from Thames. The camp offers various cabins with flat-screen TVs, kitchenettes, and some with dining areas and patios. Amenities include free parking, BBQ, mini-market, kayak and paddle board hire. Nearby activities feature golfing, fishing, and Auckland Airport is 68km away.

The spot’s great and the cabin is spotless, with clean bathrooms and showers. The coin‑operated showers work fine, have good pressure, stay hot for a long time, and are a nice touch. I found the value for money very good, and there were more kitchen items than listed (I didn’t use the communal kitchen). The staff were friendly. The walls are thin, so you can hear what’s happening next to you or the campers if they’re loud, but everyone settled down by 10 pm on Friday nights.

The location is gorgeous, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the cabins are spacious and well equipped. It’s perfect for group bookings because the setup works well for communal cooking and socialising. Nothing to complain about.
