“Amazing views, lovely hotel- but not a delux resoort”
The spot is unbeatable – every view is spectacular, the scenery is stunning. Service was just okay; the hotel felt less like a polished resort than I had imagined. The rooms look a little old‑fashioned, and the shower head is a basic hand‑held unit. On occasion a strong odor would seep in from the drain. We received only a handful of toiletries, and they weren’t restocked the next day. The room offered just two coffee capsules next to a nice free panetone. I know we could have requested more, but that shouldn’t have been necessary. At the restaurant, the staff were friendly but slow, and the wine list didn’t arrive on the second night – the waiter was helpful, but that’s the sort of oversight I didn’t expect. Breakfast was a nice buffet, but we discovered by accident that we could order eggs and pancakes; we were never shown the menu, and a soft‑boiled egg took 15 minutes to prepare with no other diners around – not acceptable. I would have overlooked these flaws because the overall vibe was relaxed and satisfying, but it didn’t feel the pampering I was after.
