“Séjour très agréable”
The staff and management were warm, and the service and food were good. The rooms lacked air conditioning, and depending on the season the fan was insufficient.

Located on Dominica's island, the Sunset Bay Club & SeaSide Resort boasts a private beach with direct access to snorkelling from the shoreline. Guestrooms feature tile floors, large windows, and balconies or patios overlooking tropical gardens. The 4-Seasons restaurant and bar serve meals with beach-side seating, while a paid shuttle transports guests to/from the airport or ferry terminal, just 1 km from Salisbury town centre.

The room and its bathroom were spacious. Without air conditioning, the fan was essential, but the one in the room was extremely noisy, over 50 dB, making it impossible to sleep. A nearby tourist residence held campfires at night, and the smoke drifted straight into the room, forcing us to close the windows. As a result, the room was very hot with the windows shut and the fan too loud to sleep. The flush didn’t work properly; every other time it failed. In terms of cleanliness, the lights and ceilings had spider webs that didn’t look recent. The room’s layout, with blinds on three of the four walls, put the bed opposite windows overlooking the garden or hotel staff working, so you either had to open everything for light and privacy or close everything for privacy. After a very short, suffocating first night, we had to cut our originally planned three‑night stay short to preserve our vacation. The manager was absent when we left and never replied to my WhatsApp or booking messages. I do not recommend this hotel.

The location was convenient for our needs, and the restaurant food was good. I rarely leave negative reviews, but travelers should be warned about this place, especially if they need handicap accommodation. The booking site advertised “entire unit wheelchair accessible,” yet the room we stayed in and another shown to us had bathrooms that were not wheelchair accessible in any international sense. It was late in the day, so we stayed but checked out two days early. The owners refused to refund the two nights we didn’t stay, even though the place was empty (I saw no other guests). Customer service was horrible. Also, none of the rooms have AC—this is the hot, humid Caribbean, and AC is expected at this price point. The restaurant is down one full set of stairs with a steep ramp beside it, requiring two people to move a wheelchair up or down. Wi‑Fi was weak, but the owners blamed my laptop; my laptop and phone connected fine at the previous and next properties. Not recommended; there are much better options in the area.

The restaurant was good, the owner and staff were charming, and the gardens were lovely. The beach location was great, not expensive, peaceful, and felt safe and secluded, with no overcrowding or touristy feel. The room was rather basic, lacking furniture and A/C. The beach area could be tidied up, and the beachfront was a bit hazardous for swimming.

The accommodation was nice. Evening food was quite expensive for the quality offered. The restaurant atmosphere was a bit heavy during meals. It feels like the establishment, once popular, has lost some of its charm and now seems a bit outdated. The area is dangerous with the pool close to the river bed.
