“Falta de cuidado. Não recomendo.”
The chalet was close to the little town center, but it had an unpleasant musty smell, and the shower in our room kept fluctuating between super hot and extremely cold. Even after telling the manager about the issue on the first day, we were not offered a room change, despite the hotel being almost empty. Breakfast was weak; the cake on the first day was moldy, the breads, cheese breads, and mini croissants were not fresh, all bought from the market. Coffee came in a thermos but was already lukewarm when it arrived in the room. We had a baby, yet there was no mattress for the crib; the manager improvised with two pillows and a blanket for the baby to sleep on, which I found very risky due to the danger of suffocation and accidents. In my view, the management lacks care. Being rustic is one thing, but neglect is another. We know staying in Monte Verde isn’t cheap, but the price paid versus what was offered is far below expectations.
