“A warm and cosy stay in a quiet residential area in Akita!”

The guest house is attached to a bar, and the staff were attentive and helpful. The bar’s breakfast and dinner dishes were excellent, all made with local ingredients. The house had the usual amenities: spacious, comfortable beds, a shared living/eating area, clean toilets and bathrooms, and a laundry room with an outdoor drying space that was very handy. The only drawback is that the hostel is very close to the station, but that station only has a local train and is about half an hour from Omagari, the nearest station that serves the shinkansen. If you’re traveling by train only, it’s not the most convenient.

The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed, making it easy for guests to chat with each other. The attached izakaya was affordable and very comfortable.

The old‑house vibe was calm, and the bar next door was tasty and had a great atmosphere, sparking lively conversation.

We had dinner at the bar with breakfast included, and it was delicious. The recommended sake paired perfectly with the meal and was fantastic.

The toilets were cleaned well, and if you’re looking for a visual appeal, the place scores high. However, the hair dryer was cheap and noisy, the shared lounge was dimly lit, and the lamp was also dim. Sitting on the floor cushions caused back pain. The air‑conditioning in summer seemed to be set too low without staff supervision, making me feel like I might catch a cold. The attached dining bar wasn’t tasty, so I’d suggest staying only for the rooms. I can’t accept the double‑price‑variation policy for the accommodation fee.
