Located on Brighton's vibrant Seafront, opposite Palace Pier, the Amsterdam Hotel, Brighton, offers award-winning accommodation and complimentary Wi-Fi. The hotel features large, recently decorated rooms with en-suite walk-in showers, flat-screen TVs, and tea/coffee facilities. Some rooms boast stunning seafront views. The Centre Stage Bar offers live shows, a large outdoor terrace, and a big-screen music video system, just a 2-minute walk from numerous restaurants and bars.

The location and value for money were solid; the room was large and comfortable, and there was a lift to the basement. The décor was tired, the bed was a little soft but acceptable, everything was clean except the carpet had seen better days, and the grouting around the glass tiles was a bit dodgy, but for the price and seafront location we found this all reasonable.

The hotel was filthy, the locks on the doors didn’t work, the windows were broken, and the blinds were broken. It feels more like a homeless hostel than a hotel.

We booked a Penthouse Suite at the Amsterdam Hotel in Brighton, yet the room was in a terrible state: dust covered the old leather sofa and tables, the carpet was old, dirty, and had a strong dust smell, the sink was clogged, the plug was hair‑covered, and mould was visible on the glass shower door. The wall clock was broken because it had no batteries, and the fridge wasn’t cooling properly. It seemed like only a superficial cleaning had been done, not proper upkeep. I have photos to back up these problems. I expected basic cleanliness, proper maintenance, and a decent night’s sleep, but this fell far below acceptable hotel standards. I would not stay here again.
