Located just off the Autoroute Ville-Marie, Le Nouvel Hotel in Montréal offers wood-furnished rooms with tiled baths, cable TV, coffee makers, and ironing facilities. Some rooms include a kitchen or kitchenette. The on-site Nouvella restaurant serves fine dining with seasonal menus. The location was good, rooms were clean and of a good size, but in room 201 the flood light on the exterior hotel wall illuminated too much of the room at night.

The spot is good and the cleaning was solid, but the place really needs a makeover; the room had a moldy smell and the power outlets were worn out, leaving plenty of room for improvement.

It was fairly close to the center on foot, the price was acceptable in August, parking under the hotel was convenient but cost about 25 euros a day, the two showers – the one with a mobile tap and the fixed ceiling shower – leaked and despite requests nothing was done in 3 days, there were spiders in the room, the one blind could not be raised, the breakfast was average in quality, and a $500 Canadian security deposit had to be paid upon arrival and was only refunded a month later.

The beds were clean and cozy, the rooms were a good size, and the location was 10 minutes from the U-Bahn station, but the reception was not really friendly, the sliding door to the bathroom had a very large gap so there was no privacy, the windows were dirty, and the ventilation in the hallway directly in front of the room made it constantly loud.
