The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. I liked the location because we could leave the car and walk around Montagu. I’m not usually a fan of Art Deco, but I enjoyed the beautiful furniture and decorations that give the hotel its unique character. We dined there and the portions were generous, and the food was delicious.

I loved the quirky art deco vibe and the roomy, comfy room, plus the central Montagu spot was great. The staff were super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was just okay; the hot dishes didn’t match what we ordered, and the cakes from the bar were stale and dry. We spotted dirty plates and cutlery on top of our wardrobe, which was also very dusty, clearly unused for a while. The hotel overall had a faint musty odor, probably from the antiques, and the parking lot was littered with trash and potholes.

The rooms were spacious, spotless, comfortable, and well maintained. The whole hotel exudes an elegant, cozy, and personality‑rich atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and would gladly return. It’s a beautiful hotel with a soul where hospitality is taken seriously. Highly recommended!
