“Ráj klidu pro nás i pro naši psici”
I was blown away by how peaceful it felt – even my dog could hunt mice from dawn till dusk, and we never had to worry about any suspicious noises. The place is truly remote, and I’m not sure locals even know about it. You don’t have to meet the owners in person, which some may like, others may not; all the instructions are sent after booking and cover everything from turning things on to cleaning up. The tiny house is thoughtfully arranged, though a spare shelf for items would be nice, and it’s incredibly cozy with comfy mattresses and a great view; it was never hot or cold, just perfectly weathered. I’m not a coffee person, but the moka pot is appreciated, and I was more interested in the dried herbs for tea. We didn’t cook, but we tried the nearby waffle shop (highly recommended). You can enjoy the existing amenities without bringing your own entertainment. The sketchbook is a highlight, showing previous guests’ drawings, and the shower is superb – I didn’t even think I’d use it because I feared the water would be too cold, but after a trip to Chotělice and back on the old railway, it was just right. The owners thought of everything and deserve the best rating. We debated the price, but all similar accommodations are priced similarly or higher, and many offer far less. Some places aren’t as secluded as they appear – you can see the owners in the garden corner and wave at them in the morning – but not here. You’re truly surrounded only by squirrels, rabbits, mice, birds, and tiny insects. The only downside was that we couldn’t stay longer. The car has to be parked on the road, which can be scary at night because you don’t know how busy the road is, but we didn’t notice any activity during the weekend. On Sunday morning before we left, someone drove through the meadow, perhaps checking if the grass was dry. I don’t know, but next time I won’t worry about it. Carrying luggage over 200 m across the meadow was a bit of a hassle, but we were lucky the grass was cut and dry. Even if the owners maintain it, the meadow can be in bloom, and maybe they have a path for visitors. I understand the reasons for not driving to the property, and we respected that and had no major issues, though I think some might mind it.
