We were greeted warmly and the hosts offered us a delicious French breakfast on their amazing terrace. The views were fantastic, and the location was ideal. Just be cautious when booking; if there are major loud events like Fête de la Musique, they can run very late. There is no reversible air conditioning, but we managed with a fan and an open window at night.
“Séjour parfait.”
Everything!
“Très bel emplacement mais difficulté à l’arrivée et au départ pour joindre le propriétaire.”
The location was good. It was difficult to reach the owner and get the keys.
The location was wonderful for walking around Albi’s historic center. Parking was convenient nearby, and the host was flexible with the check‑in time. The room is inside Mrs. Michele’s house, with an outdoor private bathroom and a private internal elevator. We paid extra for breakfast, which was worth it because it was on a beautiful panoramic terrace overlooking the cathedral.
“Fabulous location in a historic village with disappointing accommodation”
The location was superb: just behind Cathedral Saint‑Cecile, Berbie Palace, and the entrance to the Musée Toulouse‑Lautrec—only a one‑minute walk. A side plaza had a tourist office and restaurants. Everything else is reachable on foot. It should be made clear that you are actually staying in a bedroom in the owners’ apartment, and they live there with you. The room has a lock. The bathroom is across the hall, a WC room, a sink, and a shower room. The owners’ bedroom is on the same hall. They show you the TV room on that floor and the marvelous upper living‑dining space with an adjacent veranda overlooking the two main sites and an adjacent kitchen, but you cannot use those spaces. If you buy breakfast from them—an aggressive upsell—you can eat it on the veranda. Otherwise, you don’t even have a cup to drink water, which we asked for on a very hot day. You cannot make tea or coffee or keep a cool drink since there are no facilities in the room for that. The room was a decent size with a decent closet. There is an elevator. You are told there is free parking and they will show it to you when you arrive, but there is no specific parking; you have to find it, which is very difficult, and you may have to pay for it. There is too little parking for so many visitors, so you might have to park quite a ways away. The linens did not seem fresh; the towels had an odd odor, and the undersheet was stained. The pillows were half full. The shower had mold, though the rest of the bathroom appeared clean. There was too much pressure to purchase their breakfast. Even after saying no, they kept asking why not and calling or texting to ask again. While trying to get ready in the morning, the wife confronted me in the hall with my wet hair to insist on the 2 € city tax or something; she couldn’t wait until I finished getting ready.
