The rooms are tidy and comfortable. The sauna is set at a low 65 °C, which is fine for a relaxed read‑and‑unwind session (I was disappointed if I expected a typical sauna). There is no cold bath or chiller shower, and the parking situation is problematic.

“Strange property”

The riverfront spot was a nice perk, and the shower stocked decent amenities. Still, the lack of a window in the room was the biggest discomfort, and the so‑called “smart” lights would flick on at night whenever you got up for the bathroom, with no way to turn them off—just a plain switch would have been better. Check‑in felt odd: the PIN code arrived ahead of time, but you only learn which room you’re in after calling the front desk. There were no mugs or teabags, which is strange for a Japanese property; only one matcha bowl was provided (the powder kept in the fridge) and two wine glasses for some reason. The sauna never reached a high temperature, as others have mentioned, and the “communal room” was confusing—no door signs, a strange layout with a single treadmill, a pair of dumbbells, a cluttered drink station, a coffee machine, and a random table and chairs. Overall it was acceptable for the price during a holiday period, but I wouldn’t recommend it if other options are available in Matsue.

The pajamas were easy to wear, and the other amenities were solid. Water was stored in four refrigerators, which was a pleasant surprise. The TV had good sound quality and was large, making for a relaxed stay. Walking from Matsue Station takes about 15 minutes, but the path is flat and wide, so it’s not a problem.
