We stayed in an old traditional house run by the grandmother and her daughter. The room was spacious, with comfortable futons and a welcome basket. The shower was communal but we never had any sharing issues. A supermarket is just a few steps away and there is free parking on site. The common area has a kitchen and offers coffee and tea (with a Dolce Gusto machine). The grandmother, who is severely hearing impaired, lives on the ground floor; although she didn’t speak a word of English (she communicated with my Japanese husband), she always greeted us with a friendly “good morning” and a sweet treat. The daughter, Mizuyo‑san, was very helpful and took us to a beautiful bay for a swim. The property is in a great area that allows car owners to explore the southeast part of the island. I hope to return someday. Everything was perfect.
