The staff were very friendly and helpful without being over the top, which I personally appreciate and would rate five stars for. Whether I was ordering food or asking questions, there was nothing to complain about. The lunch was good and the breakfast was modest but acceptable. Everything was very clean. The bed was comfortable even though the main street was not noisy on weekends. What I especially liked was that dogs are very welcome. As soon as you arrive and sit in the dining area, there is a bowl of water for your dog even before you order yourself. Dogs are also allowed into the breakfast room, no matter how many there are. Four dog owners were there at the same time. I strongly recommend that the management advertise this and use it as a niche for the hotel – it was really top! 👍🏼 The furnishings are a bit patchy and have been in use for some time, at least in the vacation apartment. At breakfast there were apples and peaches, but despite the season there were no tomatoes or cucumbers, which I missed along with cheese and sausage. There was also no cereal or similar, although it might have been available on request.

The breakfast buffet is excellent, and as a train enthusiast I only had to walk 500 m to the Werningerode‑Hasserode station.

Adding more cereal options to the breakfast would have been a good idea.
