The little inn feels really welcoming, and the breakfast is something else—especially the homemade cake the owner bakes. The best part is the location: you can sip coffee while looking straight at the ocean. We loved it.

We booked the Canto da Galheta because it’s the easiest way onto Ilha do Mel, and it turned out to be spot‑on for my mom’s dream trip. From the moment we arrived we were greeted warmly; the little inn is tidy, charming and feels homey, and Janete and Cintia’s genuine hospitality really lifted the whole experience. The breakfast was another highlight—varied, tasty and clearly made with a lot of care.

The staff were quick and friendly, and the spot is right where you want to be, which made getting around easy. The rooms, however, could use a few upgrades—adding a shower enclosure, fresh bedding and towels, repainting the outdoor furniture and fixing the dim exterior lighting would push the place to a perfect score.
