The room was comfortable and spacious, but the small cord for hot water in the shower forced me to climb a chair to reach it; the shower instructions were confusing, we waited for a green light that never appeared, there was no personal contact with anyone in customer service, and no one was available until opening hours.

We stayed here for quick access to a wedding 7 minutes away; the room was very clean and there was a good amount of parking. The self‑serve check‑in felt a little impersonal, but the bar staff were available to talk to if needed. We had a small double room that was a tight fit for two people; the hanging space didn’t allow a mid‑length dress to hang, and the ironing board was a table one, half the length of a normal board and difficult to use without creating more creases. The bed was rock hard and extremely uncomfortable. The walls are paper thin and we could hear the people in the room next to us speaking as if they were in our room. We were also woken up many times by the sound of someone plugging something into a power socket; each time someone passed in the corridor the door would rattle. I had a discount applied to the room but I still don’t think it was worth £100 a night.

Close to the M5, but the rooms are small and pokey, the lights didn’t work, parking was problematic because the car park isn’t big enough for a hotel and restaurant, so overall I wasn’t impressed.

The location is great for driving tours and for other nearby facilities like bars and restaurants; parking is excellent and the access system is easy. The room, although small, would have been acceptable, but the shower was possibly the worst we have ever encountered. It was so small that you had to breathe in to get in and out through the very small door opening, and there was a high step to get in and out for genuine plumbing reasons, but no handhold to assist that process, making a precarious undertaking to enter and exit. The shower head did not fit the holder and also sprayed water from the head to hose fitting. Toilet paper wasn’t replaced when it ran out. There was no apparent system to ask for customer assistance. Tea cups were provided but never cleaned or replaced. The bar/restaurant seemed to have cutlery left on the table where no one was eating but people were sitting having a drink; this didn’t seem like a good idea when fidget fingers start handling other people’s utensils.
