The accommodation was the cheapest we could find so spontaneously in Inverness. We were on a hiking trip to the Isle of Skye, but bad weather forced us to cancel and head back to town. We needed a place to bridge the days until our flight, and finding a suitable spot was hard, so we booked this place. We couldn’t communicate with the host beforehand, even though a phone number and chat were provided via Booking. Messages in the chat were never answered, and the person we spoke to didn’t speak English or understand what I wanted. Check‑in was listed for 16:00, but when we arrived at 17:00 the host had just finished preparing the room. The bathroom is shared with three other units and is in a different building accessed through the courtyard. That’s not a big deal, but the dirt from the courtyard gets dragged into the bathroom, making it filthy quickly. The shower is fine, but the shower head can’t be hung, so you have to hold it while showering, which many guests have complained about; the host could fix this eventually. The shower is leaky, so the whole bathroom floods when you shower. During our stay another guest arrived with a different unit. The hosts failed to put the key for that unit in the correct box, so I had to help the guest open the box with the keypad to insert the key. If no other guest had been there that evening to help, the guest wouldn’t have checked in because the host was unreachable. Overall, the room is only recommended if you have no other option to stay in Inverness. It feels like a good way to squeeze money out of a converted garage.

The room was pleasantly large, with its own fridge and microwave. The location was acceptable, and walking to the main spots always took 15‑20 minutes. The walls were very thin, so it got very cold at night. There was no sink in the room, so you had to leave for small tasks. The bathroom was far away and shared by everyone—there was a toilet and shower in a common room for multiple guests. There was no trash bin in the room either.

The location was good for exploring the city. There was no window and the light was too weak. The bathroom was outside and very limited in layout, so you had to go outside at night to use the toilet and shower. There was no table or forks, although there was a kettle and microwave.
