“Good but check in process could have been communicated better”

The room was clean and comfortable, and the restaurant food was delicious. We didn’t know we’d need cash for a security deposit until after arrival, so we had to grab a ride back into town to get more cash before checking in.

It’s very well positioned for the rainforest discovery centre and other Sepilok attractions. The rooms aren’t special, but for 1 or 2 nights they’re perfect. The onsite restaurant was very good and the staff friendly. Remember to bring cash, as cards only work for larger purchases.

The location was great, the breakfast was efficient, and the surroundings were very beautiful. The reception wasn’t very warm, though.

The place sits close to the Rainforest Discovery Center and is a 20‑minute walk to the Orangutan and Sunbear Centre; the room was roomy with a balcony that offered a pleasant view, and right next to the apartment you can spot hornbills, monkeys, and plenty of squirrels. Breakfast was simple, but the other meals were tasty. The only downside was a noticeable odor in the bathroom.

“Good for a short stay”

The lodge’s spot was excellent—under ten minutes on foot to the RDC and 25 minutes to the Sun Bear Conservation Centre, and it’s right in the jungle so you’re lulled to sleep by cicadas. Hornbills and monkeys sometimes appear on the property, and it’s handy that lunch and dinner are served on site. They did a lot to keep insects and geckos out of the rooms. The room could have been cleaner, the bathroom was a bit worn, the food was average, and the dishes were heavily carb‑based with few veggies. Breakfast lacked variety; maybe add eggs?
