“Un moment un peu hors du tps que je garderai en souvenir”
Everything is within walking distance, and Abdou’s welcome was adorable and attentive. The terrace is super pleasant, the place is clean, and the bedding is excellent.
“Top location”
A beautiful Riad right in the heart of the medina, close to the medersa and Meknes’s souk. The owner is very friendly and gives helpful tips for your visit. Arrival instructions were spot‑on—park outside the medina and walk no more than five minutes. From the terrace you get a 360‑degree view of Meknes, with several minarets and the call to prayer as highlights. Though inside the medina, it’s super quiet because it sits in a side alley.
The staff are very courteous and gave us tea right at check‑in. The room is small but has a window. The best part is the magnificent view of the medina from the roof—almost the highest spot. On good weather days you can watch the sunrise and sunset there. Finding the hotel entrance isn’t easy; you have to walk through the market stalls, and if you’re lost, ask the shopkeepers—they’ll point you out.
“Impression de m’être fait avoir”
Nothing special. The room had a front‑door opening with a small window that required a somewhat acrobatic ladder to pull the curtains. The courtyard opening was actually an interior staircase. Breakfast was very mediocre and served lukewarm.
“Good and bad”
The location is excellent, the owner and staff are lovely and friendly, and breakfast is very good. The room was not good: the booking said there would be a wardrobe, but there wasn’t one; it mentioned a tea/coffee maker, but there wasn’t one. Only two sockets were usable; one was very loose and I had to wedge a cushion under it to keep my phone charger in. I couldn’t plug the hairdryer near a mirror. The bathroom socket didn’t work, and the bedroom mirror was nowhere near a socket. The only toiletries were a single small bottle. The shower head was broken, so I had to stay in the lowest position, making it hard to wash my hair or shower. The bathroom sink was minuscule. The bathroom was very dated and tiny, and I had to lean sideways to sit on the toilet.
