The room was lovely, with a big comfy bed and a nice bathroom. The staff welcomed us in the evening and at breakfast, but when we arrived at 8 pm we were told the kitchen was closed, so we ended up eating at Wetherspoon instead.

The hotel was very close to the theatre we visited that evening, but we felt cold because the heating was off. Breakfast didn’t start until 10 am, so we had to go somewhere else to catch our train.

The staff greeted us warmly upon arrival and the room was excellent; bath robes and slippers were a nice touch. We stayed during quiz night, and the pub’s atmosphere was great. Breakfast availability could have been better.

The place was easy to find, the room was comfortable and I slept well. Free parking was handy. I didn’t explore the area; it was just a place to sleep for the night. The staff were friendly and helpful, and though the food had stopped serving, we could easily order delivery to the pub and eat in the room. My name wasn’t in the booking diary, so I had to wait for the room to be ready, but the issue was resolved quickly and I was offered a free glass of wine while I waited.
