The mom can speak a little English (I only speak a bit myself), and she kindly answered my questions about my troubles and about Sun Moon Lake. Thanks to her, I had a fun day. A convenience store, laundry, bus stop, bike rental, and a sunrise spot (10 minutes walk) are all within a minute’s walk. It’s highly recommended for those who want to enjoy things affordably. The only drawback is that there are only stairs, so if you have a lot of luggage or find climbing difficult, consider a lower floor.

The beautiful family who run the hotel gave an exceptional welcome. They’re warm, friendly, and go above and beyond to help. The service was the best we’ve had. The triple double bedroom was huge and very, very clean, with plenty of towels, water, sodas, etc. It’s in a great spot right by the bus terminal and on Main Street, just a 5‑minute walk from the pier. The beds are a bit too firm, but otherwise it’s a great place to stay a few days.
