I’ve stayed at Ashi before and I’m mainly there for the location, the spectacular mountain view, the ramen & craft beer, and the great company of the hosts with whom I often hang out at the cafe and chat. It feels like visiting friends and hanging out at their house. The upper‑floor big veranda offers a spectacular view of the mountain each morning. Bring ear plugs because the night critters are noisy around these parts! My room’s bathroom was struggling to drain and got worse as the days went by. It became a puddle and required longer and longer to drain. No other issues.

The view is the best in Thailand and the host is lovely! The food is quite simple.

The best thing was the location. Superb spot to watch the sun go down. Good base for trips such as walking & exploring the area. The room was satisfactory with a common area for mingling & a coffee station. The craft beer served was excellent & the staff were generally friendly. Breakfast was limited to just the basics. You have to arrange your own transport to get around as it’s a distance from town. Some places were closed due to low‑season visit. Access is difficult if you have restricted mobility.

I wish I could give this place a higher score, it was so peaceful and relaxing, the views were beautiful, the staff were kind and helpful. I can’t explain how calming it is.
