The staff really look after the dogs, which is a big plus, but the whole place feels more like a kennel than a hostel for hikers. It’s a nice spot if you’re traveling with a pup, just don’t expect a typical backpacker vibe.

I normally never bother with reviews, but this place made me change my mind. The location can’t be beat and the crew—Fran, Miguel, Robin, Joana and Karina—made me feel right at home. Their dog‑walking tour is hands down the best thing to do in Palomino; I could have stayed forever if not for reality.

It’s basically an animal refuge, which is cool, but the fan in the room was weak and there was no soap in the bathroom. A bit of basic comfort would have helped.

The team goes all out for the dogs and you can tell the pups are happy—if you love animals there’s no better spot. Instead of a fancy resort you wake up surrounded by dogs and love, making it tough to leave.
