I loved the room; we booked a room for a couple and everything we needed was provided. The bathroom was also exceptional. For the price, it was one of the best hosts we’ve ever had.

Our host was gorgeous and made us feel right at home from the moment we stepped through the door. The place was a 5‑star experience, and meeting Sue and seeing her beautiful artwork was a highlight. Thanks for letting us stay; I’d definitely recommend Sue and her property to anyone. Everything—stay, location, host, property—was fantastic, no complaints at all!

Unfortunately, this was my first negative experience with a host in New Zealand. I called the owner around the 2 pm check‑in time to ask when I could check in. She said she would be back in about 30 minutes, so I asked her to call me when she returned so I could make other plans instead of waiting outside the property. After about two hours, I called again and was told that she was already home but had been too busy to call me back and let me know. The way the situation was handled and her attitude felt disrespectful and made me feel unwelcome. I offered to cancel the booking by mutual agreement to avoid further issues, but she declined. Poor communication. I reported the situation to , who fortunately compensated me with a voucher. In the end, it was a disappointing experience that left me feeling unwelcome and ultimately made me choose to sleep in my car despite having paid for the accommodation.
