“Nice Enough but Too Expensive for the Experience”
The location was great for walking and the room was reasonably furnished, yet the front desk staff were just adequate and mostly indifferent; the room rates were probably inflated for Spoleto (which I wasn’t visiting), but the value was poor: there was no in‑house food service (the restaurant was next door and breakfast didn’t count), the bathroom lacked basic items like hooks and a facial mirror, and the towels were unimpressive. It feels like Marriott took a once‑charming hotel and stripped it of its soul.
