“Awful.”
The staff were nice enough. Do not stay here in June! The entire Serengeti nearby was on fire, so there was essentially no wildlife. They should have closed the hotel or arranged an alternative location for us. I can’t believe we were charged full price for a hotel full of smoke and ash. Breathing was impossible, sleeping was bad, and the pool was unusable because it was full of ash. The view you pay a fortune for was invisible. All my clothes smelled of smoke afterward. We only stayed the second night instead of checking other options because they promised the fire would have died down and it would be okay to breathe, but it was much worse. I was told they were pre‑warned about the fire, so they lied. Our safari holiday was ruined. I’ve been trying to contact customer service for a month to request a refund and have been ignored. Lunchboxes were also not good compared to most other places we stayed. Apparently this happens every year in June—so if you’re traveling then avoid at all costs!
