The building is beautiful and the surroundings are lovely, and the breakfast was wonderful! I brought my dog (always leashed) but it wasn’t welcome anywhere else but in the room. Signs and staff clearly explained this on site, but the website had no or unclear information. Likewise, there was a ban on the dog sleeping in the bed, yet there was not even a mat or blanket for it to sleep on the floor.
The staff were very friendly, especially Karin at reception who was down‑to‑earth and genuinely nice. The hostel was tidy and felt fresh. Breakfast offered a wider selection than expected, with many spreads and homemade bread, and I got the recipe when I asked! The coffee cups were too small, so I had to keep refilling the tiny cup. Parking for my motorcycle was great, it sat safely in the courtyard. The environment was pleasant. On the downside, the messaging feature via the booking app needs review because I never received the standard information usually sent about breakfast, etc. I also couldn’t check in when I arrived because the reception was closed, even though I had indicated my arrival time through the booking. I didn’t get a key code for any locker either. I finally got someone through the on‑call phone and learned they had made a mistake and thought I had already arrived. It’s human to make errors, and it was resolved fortunately. Another mishap was a fire alarm blaring in another room (even though there was no fire), which ruined my sleep. Things like that happen, and no one can be blamed for it. I was glad to receive compensation for the incidents.
The breakfast could have been better—especially the bacon. I understand you get what you pay for, so the price should be adjusted accordingly.
