I stayed at Marian & Katie’s place, a true countryside retreat that felt more like a home than a B&B, thanks to their warm hospitality. The room was spacious with a large bathroom and a garden-facing window that made the stay very relaxing. The only downside is that the property is deep in the countryside and the nearest town with restaurants and a supermarket, Ballybunion, is about 8 km away, so you’ll need a car to be independent.

The house was cute and the family welcoming, and the shower was great with plenty of hot water. The only issue was the lack of a luggage area; the owner was a bit confused about the dates and the room wasn’t ready when we arrived, which was annoying after a long day of hiking and we were exhausted.
