“For one or two nights a lovely quiet and friendly getaway”
The location was good and the staff/owner were friendly. The shower pressure was a bit weak.

We were welcomed warmly for our one‑night stay and can’t recommend this place enough. It’s dog‑friendly, so we let her off‑lead right in front of the house in the evening. The room was huge and we felt relaxed the whole time. The family running the place are very friendly. We enjoyed a home‑cooked breakfast that was fantastic and would suggest everyone tries it. There’s also a gift shop on site with local crafts and artwork to browse. Even if you don’t stay, the café alone is worth a visit; the traybakes were so good we took some home for the next day. Everything was perfect!

The walled garden and the staff, who were very informative, made the environment feel special, and the house itself was unusual yet welcoming, with the remoteness adding to its charm. Breakfast was excellent, and there was hardly anything negative—just a suggestion that the drive could use resurfacing and that evening meals might be offered since there’s nowhere to eat after dark.
