Mrs. Wimala took care of us in every way, the place is nice and close to the sea, there’s air‑conditioning and a fan in the room, the beds are comfortable and the homemade breakfast is very good.

The location and the staff’s friendliness were nice. We booked a room, they upgraded us and then charged us for the upgrade even though we didn’t want it.

Excellent location, a 7‑minute walk to the ocean, and about a 10‑minute walk to the shop. The map shows a railway nearby, but the house is positioned so the tracks are practically inaudible. We rented a room on the second floor for three people; it was clean, bright, and very tidy. Lizards are everywhere, but the host keeps the rooms tidy. The yard and property are small. The host, an elderly lady, is very welcoming and friendly, cooks well, and offers fruit treats; she cleans the terrace and trash each morning. If we ever return to Bentote, we’ll stay here again. The only downside is the lack of a refrigerator in the room, but that’s not critical.

Quiet location, tours are offered, and you can ask for a Tuk‑Tuk anytime. Wimala puts so much effort into everything… she’s very warm and cooks great food. We had a fantastic start to Sri Lanka in a room with a balcony.
