“Hostal nefasto”

The hostel felt like a ghost town—no one was around. It was a roadside hostel with no reception, looking old and in need of a makeover. The bathroom was uninviting; I opened the window and a swarm of fat black flies flew in, which was disgusting. The water was lukewarm and never boiled. The room was icy cold when we arrived, with no heating or air conditioning. The bed was as hard as a board. Luckily it was just one night, otherwise I would have left. The hotel was empty, and at night there was no light in the parking lot. In short, a hostel I won’t return to.

“Un desastre”

The room was unfinished, and when they swapped it we got dirty bedding. The wardrobe was a mess, and there was no hot water.

When I booked, I asked to check in at midnight and was told “of course.” I arrived around 11 pm, but no one was there; a lady – speaking only Spanish – told me I had to send scans of all our IDs and pay by money transfer. That was a huge inconvenience at that hour. The rooms were not ready; we had to search for keys in an obscure drawer and found no towels. Showers had no hot water, there were no bidets, no elevators, and only one electric socket per room. Extremely inconvenient.
