“Nice owner, old caravans, no pool”
We were close to the sea and a few charming cafés across the road. The owner, who we think was the proprietor, was very nice and helpful even though we couldn’t communicate well. The caravan was not very clean; it was an older unit I’d stayed in before, so insulation was poor and bugs kept getting in. We had to plug every hole and gap we could find, but it was almost impossible. The owner suggested putting plugs in the sink and bathtub, which helped a little, but we shouldn’t have had to do that in the first place. The biggest annoyance was the smell – the toilet had an old‑poop odor. When flushing I could see under the toilet, and it hadn’t been cleaned, which was the source of the smell. Another major disappointment was the lack of a pool. It was shown in the pictures, and we were told the hotel next to the caravan park was the same company, so we went there and asked, but they said the two weren’t the same company, so we couldn’t use the pool. I guess the hotel was more relaxed in the past, but they’re stricter now.
