“Best whale watching vacation”
A huge room with a big shower and patio set on the balcony. I slept with the windows open, hearing whales in the bay and woke to ocean sounds. There was an electric blanket and fan. Binoculars were on the balcony for whale watching and the room had solar‑chargeable lights and plenty of plugs, two‑pin and round‑2‑pin adapters built in, so no extra adapters were needed. A throw was provided for chilly breezes. The decor was gorgeous throughout, and Milkwood Lodge, a private property at the back with two sea‑view rooms upstairs, a separate lounge, TV lounge, dining area, kitchen, a fully stocked fireplace and an honest bar, was where I stayed. I loved the plants everywhere and would have liked a few in the room and on the balcony. The breakfast was generous and delicious. The cliff path and Klipgat Caves were close, and an excellent restaurant was within walking distance. On‑site parking was available, and Gansbaai was only 5 minutes away, where you could buy anything you missed while packing. If you want a boat tour, you could just sit on the cliff path for hours watching whales. The breakfast area and balcony offered a 180‑degree unspoiled ocean view. In short, the property and the hospitality from the staff and Antje were second to none! I only stayed for a short time, so I hope to return soon.
