“Spacious private rooms”
Private rooms are spacious for the price. A housekeeper cleans the common area well. Slippers could be cleaned more often (maybe I just didn’t see them cleaned).

I love feeling like a local here. I can walk along the city wall and be a tourist, or stroll 15 minutes to a play, or check out the stream for a peaceful walk. The food around is great.

The bedding and towels were clean. Whenever I left a message, the response was quick. The neighborhood is quiet and close to the city center. There are many places to walk. The accommodation isn’t great at soundproofing, but it’s mostly solo or two‑person travelers, so it’s quiet enough. Each room looked different, but I liked the spaciousness of the room I stayed in, the long window, and the warm desk lamp. The bed had a dust smell at the headboard. Mold in the bathroom. I saw a huge wheel on the wall, but when I pretended not to notice it disappeared before my eyes (I sensed something in the room, maybe it was a hidden fridge). The hair dryer’s cold‑air button didn’t work, so the air was already weak and my hair didn’t dry (summer, so I just dried it in the sun and the indoor AC).

It’s about a 3‑minute walk from Hansungdae Station, slightly sloped but not too steep for a suitcase. For Korean travelers, the positives are: 1. Location—though it may seem a bit away from downtown, Seoul’s public transport is great, so it takes 20–30 minutes to reach Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, Jongno, or Myeongdong. It’s also beside the old Seoul fortress, so you can feel the historic vibe, and the surrounding Seongbuk‑dong area has historic restaurants and attractions from the Joseon era. 2. Price—this isn’t a capsule hotel; you get a single room, so it’s good value. 3. Management (hygiene)—the building is old but kept tidy. 4. There are plenty of shared bathrooms, so it’s comfortable. It’s a good pick for foreign travelers who care about value. The owner and staff are Chinese or Korean Chinese, so Chinese, Taiwanese, or Hong Kong tourists will find it very convenient. The owner is friendly. The only drawback is the building’s age; if you dislike old buildings, it might be a bit disappointing, but it’s not dirty—just some unavoidable old‑building quirks.

I felt right at home during my stay, but the shower had a bit of a resistance.
