The location was fine, but the building looked run down even though the room was clean. It seemed like nobody worked there; no one was at the front desk, breakfast was out of a lot at 9, garbage overflowed, and the place felt very understaffed. It wasn’t awful, just seemed way too expensive for what we got.

The place was clean, the staff were available for any needs, and James was very nice! It was more expensive than I expected, but I’m not sure what the current averages for hotel stays are anymore.

The location was near Miami Campus, but there were literally 10 cars in the entire parking lot and we were put on the 3rd floor. The elevator was like a scary movie, the hallway was disgustingly warm and smelly, and we were assigned room 322 where waves in the ceiling showed obvious roof issues. The “hot” water from the tub faucet turned to ice water when the shower was turned on, and when I called the front desk to report it, there was no answer. I went downstairs and found an employee sitting there watching something on a computer. When “maintenance” came in their flip flops to fix it, they couldn’t reach the front desk by phone, and we were moved to room 324 when they couldn’t figure it out. The new room had fewer waves in the ceiling and hot water in the shower, but the drains in both the sink and tub were extremely slow. We booked 2 nights and thought we could suffer through since we wouldn’t really be there. Our first morning the “breakfast” consisted mostly of items that can be purchased at Walmart/Sam’s Club. The orange juice from the machine had bugs in it. After a very long day in almost 100‑degree temps we returned to an equally hot room; the air was not working properly. “Housekeeping” brought towels and that was it—the absolute bare minimum. We considered a quick dip in the “pool,” but there was no movement in it other than obvious hairs floating on the murky water, so we scrapped that idea. This is the only time I have ever worried about bed bugs when I’ve stayed at a hotel. When checking out in the morning I told the same employee who was there every time we went by and when we checked in that the drains weren’t working right and the air wasn’t either. This employee, who honestly was not well groomed or professionally dressed, just looked at me and said, “oh ok someone will look into it.”
